Resources are used for the construction of Units, Buildings, as well as sending Fleets and performing Special Operations.
There are five different resources in Imperial Conflict.

Gold stockpiles suffer from Bureaucracy, while the other Resources suffer from Resource Decay. In either case, stockpiles of resources will lose incur larger losses as they grow, eventually making it more expensive to save than to spend.
